Music Snob

Ok, I admit it, I am a music snob.  Not in the, I only listen to classical music way, but in the I have my favorite bands kind of way.  It takes a lot for a new artist to catch my attention enough to buy their cd or download a song from iTunes (an amazing invention).  Recently, however, I have made a few purchases.  One is the latest from OAR.  Now, my younger brother has listened to them for years and raved.  I guess I should have listened sooner.  I decided to take a chance and download the entire cd to my iPod (first generation with the buttons - it is a dinosaur, but I love it and can’t live without it!)  It is my new favorite.  I feel like I have been missing out on something by not listening to them all this time.  The second new artist that I am digging right now is  Natasha Bedingfield and her song Unwritten.  I just love the music and the lyrics.  Something about it just speaks to me.  I like music that makes you think about life, but also has a great sound.  And, yes, I do love my Offspring, Green Day, Bon Jovi, and BNL - don’t hate me ’cause I’m wacky that way…  But a good relevant song is nice, too.  So, I guess this music snob is broadening her horizons and letting in some fresh music to liven things up a bit.  I am sure there is much work to be done, but it’s a start.
